District's 2026-2027 Calendar Released

The South Park School District’s Board of Directors approved the district’s 2026-2027 academic calendar at its meeting on Thursday, February 12.

The 2026-2027 school year will begin on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. New next year, the district will implement a modified start week for incoming kindergarten students. Kindergarten students with last names beginning with A-L will attend school on Tuesday, August 25 and Thursday, August 27. Kindergarten students with last names beginning with M-Z will attend school on Wednesday, August 26 and Friday, August 28. All kindergarten students will attend classes beginning on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Other calendar highlights include:

• The district will now host Meet the Teacher events prior to the start of the school year in each school in lieu of traditional September Open Houses. This afternoon event, tentatively scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 2026, will better prepare students and families for the start of a successful year. More details will be communicated in the coming months.
• The 2026-2027 winter break will be two weeks, lasting from December 21 through January 1.
• Early dismissals are scheduled for Wednesday, November 25, 2026; Friday, December 18, 2026; Thursday, March 25, 2027; and Friday, June 4, 2027.
• Graduation for the class of 2027 is scheduled for Thursday, June 3, 2027 at Eagle Stadium.
• The last day of school will be Friday, June 4, 2027.
